Role Description

This is a full-time (on-site) role for a Maintenance Engineer and will be in Dudley. The time served Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with equipment maintenance, maintenance engineering, maintenance & repair, preventive maintenance, and electrical maintenance plus much more. The applicant should be fully conversant with all aspects of engineering, he/she will have a good working knowledge of 3 phase electrical control systems to include contactor, inverter circuits, Motors, and Safety circuits.

The ideal candidate must have experience with Slitting and Decoiling and must be able to work unsupervised or as part of a team. We offer a wide range of training initiatives on site and the right candidate will have the opportunity to progress within the company e.g., LOLER, PUWER, Oxy Fuels, Crane Training, Coded Welding, Manual Handling and MEWP training.

Qualifications/Experience/Interests

Experience in equipment maintenance, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and maintenance & repair.
Expertise in maintenance engineering and electrical maintenance
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.

Main Purpose and Scope of Job

To perform visual and dimensional inspection of a variety of components within our precision machining division, ensuring they are compliant with required quality standards as set out by Accura Engineering Ltd.

Using industry-standard methods to check conformity of product such as CMMs, hand tools including bore mics, verniers and gauges. The high throughput and complexity of components needs a competent and confident Inspector who can work with the Engineering team on a daily basis. A high level of understanding of GD&T is required due to the variability of the product. You will be required to write CofC’s, ISIRs and FAIRs and be able to put in a concession if required. Desirable to have manual handling training and use of lifting equipment, however can be provided if needed.

Statement of Accountabilities

Ability to read technical drawings and interpret geometric features/tolerances.

To perform CMM Inspection using Aberlink software on the CMM Machine.

Working with various materials including aluminium, steel, castings, cast iron etc.

Operating CMM equipment and the ability to manually measure parts using conventional equipment – verniers, micrometres, gauges, callipers etc.

Documenting quality issues and reporting non-conformances.

Generating CMM Programs to measure components in CNC mode.

Compiling detailed inspection reports.

Complying with standards of safety, company policy that apply to the product.

Expert knowledge of FAIRS.

Adhering to health and safety standards as set out by the company.

Knowledge & Skills

Experience of CNC machining in a precision engineering environment
High level of CNC programming competency in Fanuc Heidenhain languages.
Must have Programming experience in both turning and milling capabilities, ideally up to 5 axis (3+2) with strong knowledge of setting, operating, and programming.
Experienced in 3D modelling, preferably with Solidworks and Visi.
Offline programming, familiarity with VISI CAM package highly desired.
Must have knowledge of tooling and fixtures in addition to lean manufacturing principles, to aid process improvements and efficiencies in machining capabilities.

Maintaining up time of spindles by delivering proven programs ahead of production schedules
Assist NPI projects adhering to timelines supplied
